PURPOSE

The St. Thérèse Homeschool Society is a ministry of the Faith Formation Office of The Proto-Cathedral of St. James the Greater.  Its purpose is to provide an outlet whereby homeschooling families may formally partake in courses and activities – through the parish – which enhance the curricula already offered in their individual home programs.  The goal is not to replace, but to supplement the rigorous, faithful, and authentically-Catholic programs already in place within our homeschooling families.  This will be done by offering courses that will either strengthen or infuse (to some degree) a classical education into a homeschool program.  This will be accomplished by offering courses and workshops in philosophy, theology, music, drama, and other academic subjects and practical arts.

WHO MAY PARTICIPATE?

Any parishioner of the Proto-Cathedral, or any non-Parishioner (Catholic or not) who agrees to abide by all of our policies and procedures.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Parishioners of the Proto-Cathedral are not assessed any fees for participation.  The only costs that may be incurred, are those associated with any textbooks or other materials required for participation in any particular course or workshop.

Participation by non-Parishioners (Catholic or not) may entail a minimal fee to help offset the cost of materials and facilities.  Contact the Pastoral Assistant for Faith Formation regarding such fees.
